Kakadu

 

Kakadu is 257km from Darwin along the sealed Arnhem Highway. Located at the end of the Northern Territory it comprises of many hectares of spectacular wildlife habitat. At the heart of Kakadu is the South Alligator River.


Many birds can be found in Kakadu including barking owls, brolgas, herons, ibis, storks, magpies and cockatoos.


To the south of Kakadu you will find swamps, grassland and and rainforest vegetation.


The seasons are very distinctive at Kakadu and the best time to visit would be between May and August when it’s in the dry season.
