'Needs and Wants'
In Term Four
2009, 3/4B and 4C as
part of their COGs unit ‘Products, Services and Systems’, looked at how
our needs and wants drive the creation of products and services. They
used 'MindNode' to create mind maps on their various needs and wants.

'Local Government'
In Term Four
2009, 3P as
part of their COGs unit ‘Working Together’, researched the services and
facilities Wollongong Council provides for us in Helensburgh. They have
published
their findings in a Comic Life project.

2/3P's Animation
'The
Journey of the Egg'
In Term Three 2009, 2/3P as
part of their COGs unit ‘Products, Services and Systems’, have
researched and produced an animation on 'The Journey of the Egg'. They
used SAM software and have done a fantastic job - 1306 frames in total.

Changes at our School
During
Term Three 2008, Years 3 and 4 researched all the recent changes at our
school. They used the program 'Comic Life' to produce a representation
of some of these changes. This project was part of their COGs Unit
"Effects of Growth and Change".

Term Three 2008, 3R researched and wrote information reports on
Australian animals. This research was part of their COGs unit
"Effects of Growth and Change".

Fleeting Past 
During
Term Two 2008, Year 3 and 4 travelled back in time and set sail as
convicts on the First Fleet. This research was part of their COGs unit
"Our Fleeting Past". Their convict profile is accompanied by their own

Illawarra Dreaming Story 
During
Term One 2008, Year 3 and 4 students read the 'Illawarra and the Five
Islands' dreaming story as part of their COGs unit "Understanding Each
Other". Please take a look as they write about and

READiscover - Book Week 2007
During
Term Three 2007, Year 3 and 4 students celebrated Book Week 2007 by
reading all the shortlisted books. Please take a look at the books they
enjoyed the most.

Possum
Magic 
During
Term Two 2007, Year 3 students read "Possum Magic" by Mem Fox and
recorded on a map of Australia where Hush travelled and what she ate to
become visible again.

as part of the COGs

Sailing
on the Endeavour with Captain Cook
During Term Two
2003, students became members of Captain Cook's crew, sailing on the
Endeavour. They wrote a personal profile and and published it on our
school Intranet. They also scanned a self portrait!

information report on their site and published it on our school

Term One 2003, Stage 2 students researched different Australian

Tricia Oktober. Students had to choose their favourite stories and
illustrate their favourite book.
